A quad injury combined with work commitments in Melbourne will prevent Griffiths making the trip to Temora for the Blues’ final game on Saturday.
He said he hasn’t made any plans for next year but isn’t ruling out a return.
“I haven’t spoken to the club about anything but it would be hard to coach given I’ll be probably working in Melbourne,” Griffiths said.
“Playing wise if they want me around I’d like to think I could probably play.
“The coaching side of it, I’d be happy to do the best thing for the club and if that means they’ve got to go elsewhere, that’s fine with me.
“I’d prefer to see Coly winning with another guy coaching and me playing if that happens to be.”
The Blues are coming off their 13th loss of the season, a 90-point thrashing at the hands of CSU.
After a season of injuries, they had only half-a-dozen players from last year’s grand final side on the field.
But it was only four weeks ago that they knocked off joint competition leaders North Wagga.
“Obviously things didn’t go too much to plan this year,” Griffiths said.
“I’m keen to be around because I know what we could’ve done if we had a full list and that sort of sits in my guts a fair bit.
“But it wasn’t to be this year.”
Assistant coach Tom Groves will take the reins against Temora on Saturday.
