Sarah and Philip Fitzgerald-Holmes are launching a free self-defence class to tackle the incidences of assault and property crime across Wagga.
With a combined 40-years martial arts experience, the duo believe self defence skills should be as common as a first aid kit.
Ms Fitzgerald-Holmes said she wanted to help make residents feel safer.
“With everything that’s been going on, we thought it was the perfect opportunity to learn self defence,” Ms Fitzgerald-Holmes said. “So we’re opening up what we know to everybody.”
She said everyone over the age of 13-years would be welcome to join the session at Victory Memorial Gardens on Saturday, August 26 from 9am to 10am.
