Police arrived at a Connorton Avenue, Ashmont home around 4pm after receiving reports of two people arguing.
When they arrived, an 18-year-old man wielding a machete refused to leave the premises, police said.
A perimeter was established at the scene and police began negotiating with the young man.
The stand-off came to an end when he handed over the machete a short time later. No one was injured.
He is now facing a string of charges over the alleged domestic-related incident.
They include two counts of intimidation and one each of common assault (domestic violence) and being armed with intent to commit an indictable offence.
He was granted strict bail and is due to appear in Wagga Local Court on October 4.
