Since the early 50s Nelso Arcade has been a central hub for local retailers in Wagga.
The arcade is proudly locally owned and managed by Kevin and Jim Olsen, grandsons of the founder of the arcade, Larry Olsen.
Nelsos Arcade caters to local small business while encouraging everyone in Wagga to shop local.
“We’ve always catered for local small business,” Kevin Olsen said.
The arcade currently has 10 tenants, a mix of businesses which complement each other.
“We never have more than one of the same type of business,” Mr Olsen said.
There is only one vacant shop in the arcade which will be filled quickly.
The feature is supported by:
- Nelso Arcade
- Uncommon Spirits
- Get Lash`d
- John Wigg
“It’s a very popular and convenient location, we never have vacant shops for very long,” he said.
“We’ve had a huge variety of businesses over the years.”
Some of the tenants have been located within the arcade on Baylis Street for more than 20 years while others have only recently moved in.
Business is booming in the arcade for Get Lash’d who increased the size of their premises by moving to a different shop within the arcade.
Dianne Wintle runs Uncommon Spirits which is a clothing store combined with her professional work as a dietitian. She wanted to be able to sell clothes that are a good fit for everyone.
John Wigg runs his antiques business within the arcade giving the facility a good mix of retail shopping and services.
Mr Wigg has been an antiques dealer for the past 45 years.
