He arrived almost undetected. No flashy fitness clothes, no push-ups, and no calling the shots. Rather friendly, polite, and most would describe as surprisingly “normal”.

“Commando” Steve Willis comes with an imposing reputation. Australia’s high profile trainer for TV fitness show The Biggest Loser, he’s been on a mission to help spread the word that getting healthy and staying fit is for everyone.
“I’m looking forward to meeting the (no pun intended) wider community within Wagga and interacting with them, making things fun and hopefully giving them a different perspective and a different taste of the person they’ve seen on the television screen,” Commando Steve said.
Commando Steve will be in full training mode on Wednesday night for those keen to get fitness tips from the celebrity trainer himself. A few tickets were left for a one-hour boot camp fat Mater Dei Catholic College.
For those who could think of anything worse than being whipped into shape, Commando will be available for a social meet and greet at Snap Fitness Gym Thursday from 6pm, where a free barbecue and book signing will be held.
While looking forward to meeting Wagga locals, Commando says the highlight for him will be going back to his old stomping ground at Kapooka where he was an army recruit in the 1990’s.
“The highlight will be meeting all the soon-to-be recruits at Kapooka and put them through a training session; motivate, inspire, and re-kindling the flame ‘cause I visited this place many yars ago for approximately three months when I did my recruit training at Kapooka,” Commando Steve said.
Commando Steve wanted to surprise the cadets at Kapooka today, with another dawn session tomorrow. We can safely say they won’t know what will hit them.
