One of the greatest artists of all time, Elvis-enthusiast and music store owner Don Tuckwell said “there is no doubt about his popularity in rock culture”.
“Elvis is still massively popular, even in Wagga,” he said.
“I’ve had kids walk into the store and ask me for Elvis CDs.
“It’s amazing, the amount of people both old and young who come in and ask about his history.”
The man himself is estimated to have sold more than one billion albums and has been touted as the greatest artist of all time.
Elvis isn’t just “tied down to us 70 year olds” Mr Tuckwell said; he represents “change” and has the ability to “connect” with anyone, even in death.
Elvis was found unresponsive on a bathroom floor and pronounced dead in Memphis on August 16, 1997.
