Three months after controlling the round eight clash between Tumut and Kangaroos at Equex Centre on May 28, White will be charge again when the two teams meet in the sudden-death final.

The appointment pushes White to second behind Scott Muir on the referee list, a significant rise over the course of the premiership.

As expected Muir will referee the qualifying final between Gundagai and Young at Anzac Park on Sunday.

Muir is the most experienced and respected referee in Group Nine and is already considered a sure thing to control the historic twilight grand final on September 9.

In contrast, White is definitely the referee on the rise, forging ahead colleagues including Sean Skeers, Mick Kirkman and Shane Bartlett to clinch the elimination final appointment.

Ironically, when White last refereed Kangaroos and Tumut, Kangaroos captain- coach Ben Jeffery was critical of an 8-2 penalty count against his team in the second half.

“It was disappointing,” Jeffery said at the time.

Jeffery, however, would have no issue with White after the Wagga team whipped Albury 32-24 at Equex Centre last Saturday.

Kangaroos finished ahead 12-9 in the penalty count and White received a glowing report from referee adjudicators.
