In what was a stunning, sunny afternoon, the incident happened shortly after 4pm when witnesses say a disturbance occurred between a group of people, before the man was stabbed.
“Witnesses say all the people involved were known to each other so we don’t believe it was a random attack,” Wagga Police Inspector Peter Robertson said.
Charges are expected after police speak to all parties involved.
“The man has a ten centimetre laceration to his hand which was stitched at hospital,” Inspector Robertson said.
