David Collins and Shane Dundas will perform as The Umbilical Brothers and are excited to bring their Speedmouse show to the city.
Although not real brothers, Mr Collins said the duo “just wanted to mix it up a bit” and Wagga will be one of the first cities to see the updated, unrefined show.
“We thought we’d create something for our Australian fans by giving them a show they actually asked for,” he said.
“It’s quite an old show but because of that, we’ve changed so much of it – it’s very different from the original.
“There are whole sections of the show that are completely different because we don’t want people to go, oh I’ve seen this.”
The show centers around a piece of technology that allows the boys to immediately jump to any routine or fast-forward through the “boring” bits.
But unfortunately, the remote goes missing and the situation gets worse when when a show controller starts playing mind games with Shane.
The boys are off the back of a recent tour in New York and Spain, Mr Collins said, and they are changing the show for themselves “as much as the audience”.
“The show has got to be ten years old or so,” he said.
“It is still liquid and ideas move around from night to night depending on the audience interaction.
“If a joke gets a laugh three days in a row, it stays in the show! If not, it gets taken out.”
Wagga will “get the new show in its early form,” Mr Collins said, before a final version arrives back in the city for round two.
“Regional Australia tours are the best tours because every night we're trying out something new,” he said.
“The show isn’t cemented yet and we’ll be trialing all these different things for it in our regional tour.
“After this set of shows, we’ll tour the world, and then bring it back to Wagga where people can see the polished version.”
The Umbilical Brothers are also set to release their new creation Not Suitable for Children, that blends good intentions of performing a kids’ show with with bitter cynicism.
