Police and emergency services were called to Wagga Beach on Sunday afternoon following reports of a child being stabbed in the hand.
It’s unknown at this time how the child came to be stabbed, but police indicated it was not a major incident and were establishing the facts.
6pm:
Police confirmed it was a small knife that was used in the attack that produced a small wound. The child was attended to by ambulance services.
Police are not treating the incident as serious and will be conducting follow-up inquiries over the coming days.
