Ganmain Show is on once again.
Saturday August 19 will see the small community of Ganmain showcase the best it has to offer with a large contingent of volunteers hosting the largest annual event on the local calendar.
Beyond Bank is once again the major sponsor of the show.
The bank has been supporting the show over a number of years and is wonderful to still have this community investment coming from one of our local businesses.
A new attraction at the 2017 show not to be missed is touted to be the funniest show on two wheels in the country.
Known as Epic Darren this comedy show involves one Larrikin Aussie, one motorbike, albeit a very small one, and some props to entertain the crowd.
Come along and view the antics this “motorcyclist” gets up to as he mimics some of the big-time stunt shows in his own way.
The exhibitions which fill the pavilions each year, are testament to the fact that the community is willing to get behind this iconic local event and make it the success that it is.
In the main pavilion we always see a great display in all sections whether it be farm/garden produce, handicrafts, cooking, or the fine arts and photography.
This feature is supported by:
The equestrian arena is always a spectacular sight with a large number of horses and riders competing in a wide range of classes from show jumping to light horses and the heavyweight clydesdales.
Dogs are another feature with the championship dog show attracting a range of quality dogs locally and from interstate.
The skill of the yard dogs and their handlers will also be on display with a full line up of working dogs competing for a share in an extensive prize pool.
The young people of our community can get involved with the showgirl competition with all age groups up to 17 able to enter on Show Day.
Judging will commence for the junior sections at 1.30pm adjacent to the main stage and 18 to 24 years to enter with an expression of interest prior to show day.
There is plenty to see prior to midday with horses and dogs in competition from 9am and the show day atmosphere building during the morning.
The lucky gate prize will be drawn at 2.45pm so be sure to get your entries in the barrel next to the main stage for your chance to win.
The committee for 2017 would like to extend a warm welcome to all residents of Ganmain and surrounding districts to support this year’s show with your attendance.
We also encourage everyone to look through the schedule of entries to see what sections you can enter to keep our exhibits full to overflowing.
A big thankyou must go to all the sponsors of the 2017 show. Without sponsors this event would not happen.
- Stephen Hatty, Ganmain Show president
Without sponsors this event would not happen, so congratulations to all who have contributed to the spirit of our small community to put on a day held in high regard by show patrons from far and wide.
