The Magpies have announced their intentions to revive their under 17s next season and have appointed senior assistant coach Andrew Saddler to coach the team.
The development will be a major boost for the Farrer League and take the under 17 competition to seven teams.
TRYC last fielded an under 17 team back in 2010 and president Gavin Hofert believes the move is a positive step in the right direction.
“That’s the plan. They are all under 15 kids at the moment so they will be bottom age in their first year, but the year after they will be top age, which will be handy,” Hofert said.
“We haven’t got that pathway at the moment for our kids and we’ve lost a few to Osborne, Henty and a few into Wagga.
“This will give the kids a bit of a pathway and there are a few kids we’ll be looking to get back as well.
“In our senior team at the moment we’ve got Toddy Hannam, Bryan Ball, Aaron Meyers, Tommy Yates, all junior kids, but we haven’t had that for a while.
“It’s a good move for the future.”
