The competition is split into a trio of events - the individual time trial, the road race and the criterium - and Wagga Cycling club's Bronte Stewart is considered a strong chance for a podium finish in all three events in the 13s girls.
Tolland’s Rebel Brooker looms as a force in the 15s girls, Wagga 15s boys competitor Sebastian Radburn has been unwell but always finds another gear in state competitions, and teammate Ed Wright will look to continue his excellence in 17s after taking some time off.
Wagga Cycling Club publicity officer Cameron Oke said home ground advantage would also be a major factor.
“You always get that young one who might not feature in the top ten all year, but as soon as they have their family there cheering them on, they become that surprise package,” Oke said.
The individual time trial begins at 9am on Saturday at Jewnee Street, Wantabadgery, with the first road race commencing at 12pm. The criterium event begins at 8:30am on Morrow Street in Wagga on Sunday.
