Melbourne milliner and member Phillip Rhodes drove the three day masterclass on the fabric sinamay.
“It gives incredible pop and offers versatility and colour for people seeking that extra dimension,” Mr Rhodes said.
The technique involves applying dress fabrics and lace to a structured base.
Mr Rhodes said his practice is driven by the clients’ needs and individuality.
“Women make the choice of what they’ll wear and come to you, they trust you and wearing your creation is a sort of womanly pleasure,” he said.
“It’s about getting noticed for the right reasons.”
Association president Jo Rolfe said their creations enjoy great support in the Wagga community.
“We’ll be seeing a lot of these at the races,” Ms Rolfe said.
The annual workshop was held in the art centre on Tarcutta Street.
