A night out turned into a nightmare for arresting officers and Turvey Park’s Jessica Madden, 26, who faced Wagga Local Court on Wednesday.
Madden pleaded guilty to seven offences - all relating to the one incident, including three counts of intimidating a police officer and two counts of assault.
Madden was also charged with resisting an officer and remaining in the vicinity of a licensed premises, after she was kicked out on her night out at The Victoria Hotel.
According to police facts tendered to the court, Madden was removed from the hotel due to her high level of intoxication and was asked by security to move 50 metres from the premises.
The facts stated Madden refused, claiming she was waiting for a friend.
As police intervened and warned the 26-year-old to move on, she started to swear at officers.
The incident continued to escalate as Madden resisted arrest, kicking one officer in the right leg several times and once to the chest while she was wearing high-heeled boots.
Solicitor for the accused, Jim Allen, told the court Madden had fallen off the wagon and her judgement was clouded by alcohol.
Mr Allen also told the court Madden was receiving treatment for a number of issues.
Magistrate Erin Kennedy told Madden she needed to continue to gain support to get herself on track and stay off the alcohol as she handed down her sentence.
The police facts stated Madden was indefinitely banned from all licensed premises as a result.
“I understand that this has occurred because of some trauma you’ve been through but this sort of thing creates trauma for someone else,” Magistrate Kennedy said.
“Let’s just stop passing it on.”
She was fined $200 for refusing to leave the vicinity of the premises and received a 14-month good behaviour bond for all charges.
