“We all agree its the beginning of a new chapter to create that harmony in society,” Wagga Muslim Society Chair, Dr Ata-ur Rehman said.
“It gives substance to the “golden rule”; it’s working together and its the important basis for all faiths that really speaks about harmony, peace, unity and great respect for difference, and understanding that difference,” said Catholic Diocese of Wagga member Joan Saboisky.
Peir Woon from Wagga’s Potowa Buddhist Group says the interfaith dialogue will go a long way to highlight the commonality, “and to promote and celebrate the values we all treasure together, which is the basic humanity values.” Hindu spokesman Anjanee Kumar Bichani says residents can find out more by visiting their Facebook page, “Our Common Word – Harmony through Unity.”
“It is our common word, so please come on September 23 and join us,” he said.
