Having paid their respects to the popular Leeton High School teacher with a minute’s silence over the past two years, the Lions parted with tradition and played Scott’s favourite song instead, When You Were Young by The Killers.
Riverina forward Amy Cootes said it was a touching day, with emotions running high and peaking with the playing of the song.
The club has also raised money for various foundations in the fight against domestic violence through raffles and donations across its three games played in Scott’s name.
The Lions did Scott proud on the field as well as off it, thrashing the Molonglo Juggernauts 88-0.
The day also marked 15 years since the Lions’ inception, as the club celebrated its history by welcoming back its former players.
