Rose was carried from the field after a worrying collision with Diesels captain-coach Matt Hands in the last play of the 30-16 victory on Saturday.

Rose has already undergone two surgeries on his left knee and sent shock waves through the Bulls camp.

However there isn’t as much concern two days later.

“It was probably just a little bit of a scare,” captain-coach Nick Skinner said.

“He copped a knock on the knee he’s had an operation on, but I don’t think it is as bad as first thought

“That is good.

“It’s a bit swollen and a bit stiff but hopefully he should be right for this week.”

After undergoing a full reconstruction after an anterior cruciate ligament injury as a teenager, Rose had a clean up of the same knee over the pre-season.

Understandably worried at the time, the 22-year-old was far more upbeat on Monday.

“I just copped a pretty heavy knock on it but I know it is definitely not my ACL that I’ve done before,” Rose said.

“It feels pretty good.

“I just have to wait and see the physio (on Tuesday) to see what he thinks as well but it feels pretty good.”

He didn’t rule out taking on the Greens at Harris Park this week, but wanted to get another opinion first.

“I wouldn’t take the field if I’m not right …. but I am thinking I should be ok,” Rose said.

Coming off a less than impressive win against the Diesels, Skinner is looking for a better showing against Tumbarumba.

The club made four changes from the 50-10 win over Gundagai to face the Diesels and and it showed.

“We are the walking wounded at the moment,” Skinner said.

“I think we are definitely looking to improve in a lot of areas this week and I think we were a bit lethargic and going through the motions.”

Skinner missed the clash with a hamstring injury and rates himself a 50-50 chance to play.

The same goes for fullback Jake Dooley, who picked up a rib complaint in the win over the Tigers a fortnight ago.

Despite sitting on top of the ladder and taking on a team second last, with so many injuries concerns Skinner doesn’t want to take the Greens lightly.

“Even though where they are situated on the ladder it is always a tough game against them,” he said.

“You are always sore after you play Tumbarumba.”
