“Enjoy playing the game”.
Realising the joy had been sapped from their on-field exploits, Driscoll’s team took his advice to heart.
Their newfound carefree approach led to a looser style of play and a greater level of potency on both ends of the pitch.
It wasn’t long before Georgina Flanagan found the back of the net, dragging her side back into a game which previously appeared to have slipped away.
United’s Giulia Casson then conjured up some last minute heroics, salvaging the draw with a goal of her own.
Henwood Park were well and truly on top during the first-half, midfielders Courtney Schmid, Bronte Buik and Brandy Nicholson calmly controlling the game in the middle of the park.
Jennifer Woodbury and Brooke Gayler were responsible for Hawk’s two goals.
Elsewhere, Junee tightened their grip on a finals spot after defeating an undermanned Cootamundra 7-0 at Burns Park.
The home side burst out of the gates and were wiping the floor with Cootamundra by half-time, leading 4-0.
Jaguars stalwart Ashleigh Goode headlined her side’s long list of scoreres, finishing with a hat-trick.
Kara Hancock, Marissa Ward, Phoebe Quinn and Morgan Goode also found the back on the net.
Junee coach Adrian Weir said the match served as an ideal confidence boost ahead of taking on Henwood Park on Wednesday and dominant ladder-leaders Cootamundra on Sunday.
