Haran's Patisserie, The Borough and Thirsty Crow will create unique doughnuts to pair with a range of craft beer this July 29.
The idea to pair beer and doughnuts together was something “random and different,” Amanda Baker from the Thirsty Crow laughed.
“There’s a lot of places that pair up wine and food but we wanted to be a little different,” she said.
“We don’t know anyone who doesn’t like doughnuts and it’s one of those combinations that has never been done before.
“Someone will tell you there is a Thai green curry flavoured beer and you have to come up with some sort of doughnut that will go with it.”
Twelve beers have been specially made for the event, ranging from peanut butter to salted pretzel, and earl grey.
“It’s a mix of pots and cooking times that go into making specialty drafts like the Thai green curry,” Ms Baker said.
It’s exciting to be working with other local businesses, Ms Baker said, and to be getting together as a community.
“It’s really nice for Haran’s and The Borough to get on board and keep it local,” she said.
“There will be a bit of friendly competition between the three of us.”
