Oura’s young and old hopped, jumped, spat, threw and tugged their way through challenges and competitions at this year’s Winter Games.
More than 100 locals and Riverina visitors enjoyed the sun’s warmth, set against a mild, mid-winter chill on the day.
Delighted villagers said it was the quiet, the peace and the people that made it a wonderful place to live.
Oura’s Winter Games co-organiser said winning the competitions wasn’t really important.
Den Pleming said the event was about bringing the small, tight-knit community together for a day of fun.
“Businesses from Wagga kindly donated prizes and goodies,” Ms Pleming said.
“So all the money raised from the Fire Brigade’s barbecue, the CWA and the Progress Association can go straight back into the village.”
She said what started as a simple pumpkin growing competition had evolved into an annual family festival.
