Although three men were convicted of conspiring to murder Mr Mackay, and a Royal Commission named six other men who may have ordered the killing, no-one has ever been charged with his murder.
So how can this be?
Three people were convicted of conspiracy to murder Donald Mackay in Victoria yet not one of them was ever charged with murder of Donald Mackay in NSW.
Surely this indicates that despite Det. Supt. Rowan's claims about an 'ongoing inquiry' there has never been any desire by the NSW police to solve the murder.
Det. Supt. Rowan states he is unavailable for interviews. Surely it is the duty of the media to ask him to explain why after forty years the NSW police have never charged anyone with the murder?

Thinking of the Sheep
Oh my goodness, now it’s shearing the sheep. Jenny Moxham letter to The Daily Advertiser (July 6, 2017: Think of the Sheep).
I hope she doesn’t wear any woollen clothes or have woollen blankets or carpet.
I wonder if she has ever seen sheep that have been ‘flyblown’ or have burns in their fleece which to mention just a few like Noogoora burr, Bathurst burr, Devil's Claw and Cork Screw which gets into their wool and screws through their pelt and into the sheep's flesh that is more cruel than shearing them.
I also wonder if her parents reared her using woolen clothing and blankets.
Fully fleeced sheep also get wet and have to carry around the weight of the water and it takes time to dry out.
I am adding a few lines from a lovely song that was released in the sixties which I have changed one word twice and the lines were ‘Don’t try to fight it lady give in without a fuss,’ don’t try to fight lady it’s bigger than both of us.

Five minutes of glory
We now have someone that you have let him go on your stage for five minutes of glory.
He may been able to run the civic theatre some years ago but they all had tickets paid for.
Your are now driving a cab use your common sense. I have collected money upfront.
If they are young and I think may not pay with no problems for some 18 years

Cultural funds injection
The region can share in part of $100 million being invested into regional villages, towns and cities through a new Regional Cultural Fund announced in the 2017 NSW Budget.
The Regional Cultural Fund is exciting news for a range of potential new projects that could benefit in the region.
So if there is a gallery in Wentworth that needs to be built or a small museum in Balranald that needs a lick of paint or a theatre group in Leeton or Moama with a new project, I encourage them all to apply for this funding.
There are small, medium and large funding pools for projects from a couple of hundred dollars to $5 million.
Specific funds are reserved for new programming projects.
Expressions of Interest and applications for the Regional Cultural Fund will open from July 17, 2017.
Successful projects will be invited to provide additional information.
For further information and guidelines for applicants visit the website www.create.nsw.gov.au.
