With the Phantoms odds-on favourites to win the Southern Inland premiership, Devlin said it was important to play on their terms.
“We have changed our game plan over the past few weeks,” Devlin said. “We are going to try and tighten things up a little bit and limit their attacking play as their biggest threat is loose play.
“If we can restrict the loose ball, we will go a long way towards winning the game.
“We want to play the game at our pace as they love free flowing footy at high speed.
“If we can tighten it up and almost smother them out of the game, we should do well.”
Leeton is sitting well clear on top of the ladder while the Steamers are holding fifth spot with Ag College eight points behind them.
Paul Musarra’s side play Waratahs in the final round with Aggies meeting CSU and Tumut.
