While most of us were sound asleep at 4am on Friday, September 23, a trio of Wagga residents were up to no good, escaping with almost $10,000.
Daniel Thomas Judd, Gary Thomas Gray and Dylan Ingram entered the Temora home as two victims hid under the bed, leaving with $9100, two Samsung mobiles and a wallet with a credit card hidden in a school bag.
According to police facts, one victim noticed the baby monitor screen, which displays the front yard, suddenly cut out.
Investigating further, the man noticed the three accused in the yard, before retreating underneath the children’s bed.
The facts state Ingram, who was holding a black tomahawk knife, told one female victim that he didn’t want to hurt anyone and had just come for the money.
Judd, 33, was arrested just two hours after the incident, Gray was arrested on September 26 and Ingram on September 28, with all three currently in custody.
Gray was the first to face court on Wednesday, as he sat handcuffed behind glass panels, separating him from his former life.
Gray pleaded guilty to aggravated enter dwelling with intent relating to the Temora incident, not guilty to possession of a prohibited drug and guilty to one count of stolen property on a separate occasion, with a number of other charges withdrawn.
His representative, Selwyn Hausman, told the court he was awaiting legal aid funding for a psych report for Gray.
Ingram pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated enter dwelling with intent and one count of stealing. He faces a number of other charges including receiving stolen property.
Ingram’s solicitor, Zac Tankard, requested a pre-sentence report for the next court date.
Judd pleaded guilty to one charge of aggravated enter dwelling with intent.
Solicitor Dominic Holles made a fresh bail application for Judd in court on Wednesday, on the basis that the new agreed facts were substantially less severe.
Crown solicitor Jessica Dawson told the court Judd had breached bail on a number of occasions and their was a real risk of further offending.
Magistrate Erin Kennedy refused bail on account of Judd’s non-compliance. The trio will now face Wagga District Court on September 1.
