The Demons’ 10-game winning streak came to an end last Saturday when Leeton-Whitton enjoyed a 19-point win at Crossroads Oval.
Collingullie-Glenfield Park get the chance to bounce back against Coolamon on Saturday, in what is the Demons’ last home game of the season.
Gestier labelled teamwork is the number one priority for Collingullie-GP as they look to get back to winning ways.
“I think just our teamwork,” Gestier said.
“Last week, when things got tough, we all played as individuals and tried to do things for ourselves and it didn’t work out.
“We need to be working as one, not all separately.”
Gestier has been happy with the response from the playing group this week.
“It’s been good, we’ve all come back with a bit of grit and stuff,” he said.
“Really, we’re the only side that’s only lost the one game so there’s no need to panic but the reaction has been really good, I’m happy with that.”
After struggling in the opening half against the Crows, the Demons changed things around.
One of those was the forward line, as Gestier moved to full-forward and Marc Geppert came out to centre-half-forward.
Gestier said opposition teams can expect to see more of that.
“It’s something we’ll look at a bit more here and there,” he said.
“Sides are now coming up with plans, which is fair enough. It’s something we’ll have to go with at times but it’s good and we probably didn’t do it early enough last week, to be honest.
“That’s one thing, from my perspective, in the forward line is that we need to have a bit more versatility. We need to roll around and be a bit unpredictable.”
The Demons are unlikely to make many changes to their team.
Dangerous half-back flanker Dan Kennedy is in doubt due to injury, while key defender Will Haines is still a couple of weeks away from a return.
Coolamon young guns Josh Buchanan, Ryan Allen and Liam Delahunty are all scheduled to return, but Allen and Delahunty are under an injury cloud.
Experienced defender Ryan Chamberlain is closing in on a return from injury.
The Demons only scraped over the line against Coolamon last time, winning by two goals, and Gestier expects another serious challenge.
“I’ve watched them a few times and they’re a good young side,” he said.
“Coming off the bye, they’ll be cherry ripe I imagine and if we don’t bring our best footy then we’ll find ourselves in trouble.”
