Kooringal High School year 12 student Renee Selvey is one of 25 students from around Australia who will receive the Tuckwell Scholarship.
The scholarship will provide more than $21,000 annually for up to five years to study at ANU, as well as mentoring from senior ANU leaders and researchers.
Renee, 17, who studies classical guitar at the Riverina Conservatorium of Music, is hoping to do a double degree in mathematics and music.
“It was a bit of a shock when I first heard,” Renee said.
“But the shock has worn off a bit and I’m now excited. It will definitely help ease the financial burden of studying.”
