Wagga schoolgirl Carly Salmon finished sixth in the 200 metre sprint at the World Para Athletics Championships in London yesterday morning.

Salmon, 18, was beat out by fellow Aussie Isis Holt, who went on to claim gold in the T35 category.

The Wagga local will now compete in the 100 metre sprint at 5:05am on Thursday (local time).

The event marks Salmon's third world championships.

Her selection came after the devastation of missing out on the Rio Paralympics last year.
