In conjunction with MHPE and Adaptive Foundation Australia (AAFA), we will be hosting and celebrating Veterans Health Week with two events.
1. A 10,000 step walking challenge for veterans, war widows, and widowers, current and ex Australian Defence Force members and their families.
The theme for this year’s challenge is The Kokoda Track. This virtual walk is timed to acknowledge the 75th anniversary of the Battle of the Kokoda Track and will take participants on a four-week virtual journey through some of the most significant historical and geographical elements of this iconic track. The challenge will commence on Saturday, October 21 for Wagga members
2. On October 28, we will be conducting a public health and fitness expo as well as a charity fitness competition in the Victory Memorial Gardens.
The purpose of this expo is to showcase businesses, organisations and services in the region and nationally, that assist and provide any form of health, fitness or other services to the veteran community there in Wagga and to the public.
This will create exposure for veterans and their families as well as for the public in general. Health and fitness in our lives is a critical tool in the management of disease and disability.
Also, to attract the public to the expo, we will be hosting and conducting a day long fitness competition, that will test the 10 various domains and modalities of fitness, of which, we will find the regions fittest Man, Woman Team and Speciality area (defence force, police, emergency service personnel, etc.) and showcase the benefits of fitness, mentally and psychically.
The competition and Expo, will raise funds for the Adaptive Athlete Foundation Australia, to assist in the foundations goal of the conduction and promotion of free fitness services and education for veterans and emergency personnel and their families here in Wagga.

Taboo issues
An art exhibition is being staged by the University of Melbourne pop-up Science Gallery next month in Melbourne called “Blood: Attract and Repel”
Melbourne Uni are putting $400,000 towards the exhibition.
State and federal governments are donating $55,000 of tax payers money and the Science Gallery of Melbourne has raised $160,000 from philanthropic partners.
This art installation is about menstrual blood. What a waste of over half a million dollars for the people of Melbourne.
The same people who Wade Kelly said think the people of Wagga are bogans, country hicks, etc, because we don’t want to spend money on art until the more important things are done.
This is proof that HECS fees should be doubled for art students. If you are going to waste it then pay for it yourself. It is also proof you shouldn’t take some peoples advice.
