Five of Wagga’s most promising young water polo players have featured on the grand stage across two major competitions this month.

Lauren Nugent’s NSW Schools team claimed Bronze at the Golden State Invitation Tournament in Stockton, California.

Nugent is currently touring the US and Canada with the schools-based state side following a series of outstanding performances for the Riverina at the state carnival late last year.

Meanwhile, a host of young locals represented NSW at various levels at the Sydney Water Polo Youth Festival.

Sophie McLeod brought the speed and vigour she displayed over the summer to the under 16 Waratah girl’s team, finishing the competition in eighth spot.

Tenacious playmaker Rex Gallaher was selected in the NSW Waratahs’ under 16 side, Kolby McMahon’s represented the NSW country under 16 side and Jacob Collingridge competed for the NSW Waratahs in the under 14 boys competition.
