When Andrea Schineanu noticed a couple of mobile phones discarded in a drawer at home, she decided it was time for a clean-out.

So she teamed up with Sisters Housing Enterprises (SHE)  to find a new home for not only her unwanted phones, but those of anyone who wants to donate theirs to a good cause.

Dr Schineanu, an associated professor at Charles Sturt University, said many SHE clients found themselves in need of a mobile phone at short notice.

“They may have had to leave their homes without their phone or their phone has been compromised or broken” she said. “People who want to do something for the environment and help SHE, can donate them.”

Any unlocked phones and chargers can be donated via Wagga Women’s Health Centre, 22 Peter Street.
