The Bulls had plenty to smile about following the big trip west after scoring a 64-0 victory.
Holding the Blacks scoreless was a real highlight.
“It was really good especially defensively as we were under some pressure early,” Grivas said.
“It took a long time to kick away but the guys held their nerve and played to the plan.
“It is the first time we’ve kept a side to nil this year so I’m very pleased with that.
“It shows a good work rate in retaining possession.
“We starved them of the ball and they have some dangerous ball runners, but we were able to keep it away from them which is a real positive.”
While five-eighth Harrison Friswell crossed for a double as he controlled the Bulls attack, it was their forwards who did most of the damage on the scoreboard.
Six of their nine tries were scored by those in the pack, including doubles for Tom Mouat and Will Reynolds.
One concern was an ankle injury sustained by representative fullback Josef Glamuzina early in the clash.
However Grivas doesn’t think it is too serious.
“He just rolled his ankle and it was as much precautionary as anything,” he said.
The Bulls are now bracing for the clash with Albury on Saturday, after the Steamers proved too good earlier in the season.
The loss extends the Blacks winless season and they will be looking to rise to the challenge in the derby clash against Leeton on Saturday.
