Manawatu was placed on report during the Bulls dramatic draw with Young at Alfred Oval on Sunday.

The Cherrypickers requested CRL review the incident between Manawatu and their captain-coach James Woolford late in the first half.

Bidgee administrator co-ordinator Dean Sutherland is looking to source video taken at the ground before any potential charges are laid but there has been a delay.

“Hopefully we can get the video early (Tuesday) morning,” Sutherland said.

“We tried to get it today (Monday).”

It is believed the alleged bite occurred during a scuffle between most players on the field.

However Woolford didn’t make a complaint to visiting referee Matt Navin until after Southcity scored from the following set.

Speaking after the game on Sunday, Woolford was adamant he was bitten.

“One hundred per cent I got bit,” Woolford said.

“And it was a good one too.”

He was happy to let the process play out.

“That is out of my hands now and what has happened on the field has happened on the field,” Woolford said.

“I’ll let whoever has to deal with it deal with it.”

Southcity official Rod Porter was hesitant to comment without any charges, but said the club was ready to launch a vigorous defence if it was needed.

“It is certainly not in Pani’s character and he was very upset that he’d even been accused,” Porter said.

Just last season, Southcity cited former Young captain-coach Neil Thorman for biting Usaia O’Sullivan.

The Englishman was found guilty and suspended for four weeks.

Meanwhile, Cootamundra five-eighth Aaron Byrne is expected to miss the rest of the season with an Achilles tendon injury.

Byrne hurt himself in the Bulldogs big loss to Gundagai on Saturday, and is shattered by the prospect of sitting out for the rest of the season.

“Yeah, it’s pretty disappointing,” Byrne said.

“They (team medical staff) think I’ve snapped my Achilles tendon.

“I’m just waiting to see the orthopaedic surgeon in Wagga to sort it out and I’m hoping to have the surgery done later today (Monday).”

Byrne’s injury is just the latest episode in the luckless Bulldogs 2017 campaign.

It was kickstarted by an early season-ending pectoral injury to captain-coach Warran Lloyd.
