The Australian Aviation Hall of Fame is being relocated from Wagga Wagga to the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society at Albion Park Rail.

AAHOF was founded in Wagga Wagga with the support of that city’s council in 2010 to recognise outstanding achievements of individuals and organisations who have made significant contributions to aviation and aerospace.

It has inducted 31 people and five organisations and now has the support of Shellharbour City Council with the move to the Illawarra.

Chairman Steve Padgett said AAHOF had always been committed to creating a permanent home and looked at locations around Australia.

It eventually found its objectives and interests were closely aligned with HARS. Now it will have a permanent home in the hangar complex at Illawarra Regional Airport.
