Rodeo club members have held working bees to dismantle the old post and wire fencing in preparation for new steel fencing around the perimeter of the arena.
A $25,000 state government grant will go towards erecting 405 metres of steel fencing, which includes five bull rails and five gates.
The new fencing is set to make the arena more accessible and user friendly for all users of the grounds and safer for the animals, spectators and competitors.
Gundagai Rodeo Club was formed in 1975 and has continually developed the rodeo and campdraft complex over the years, including shower and toilet block amenities that have enhanced the rodeo and camp drafting experience for competitors and spectators.
