Collingullie captain-coach Luke Gestier confirmed the return of Jolliffe to Crossroads Oval on Tuesday with the Demons set to lodge a clearance on Wednesday.
Jolliffe, 24, has not played for Collingullie since the 2010 Farrer League grand final victory, where he then left for Queanbeyan, and then Wodonga Raiders.
Gestier said Jolliffe could line up for Collingullie-GP in Saturday’s showdown with Wagga Tigers if everything goes to plan.
“Yep definitely, a player of his calibre will come straight in,” Gestier said.
“We’re looking to get a clearance in as soon as possible, after they’ve ticked it off down there.”
Wodonga Raiders were expected to release Jolliffe to his junior club after a board meeting on Tuesday night.
The club said in a statement on Monday that they were prepared to release Jolliffe from his contract, if he was return to Collingullie.
Gestier said Jolliffe’s return is a huge boost to the undefeated Demons.
“It’s fantastic for the club, he’s got a family connection there and that’s what we’re all about,” he said.
“From our perspective, we’re absolutely rapt.”
Jolliffe will be a huge addition to a Demons midfield that already boasts Jim Quinn Medallist, Jayden Klemke.
Jolliffe was co-captain of Raiders and had established himself as one of the best players in the Ovens and Murray League since arriving in 2014.
