Undefeated Riverina League leaders Collingullie-Glenfield Park are closing in on another big boost.

Wodonga Raiders are set to release co-captain Steve Jolliffe for a come back to the Demons.

The matter will be discussed at a board meeting on Tuesday night, but is almost certain to be ratified.

Raiders released a statement on Monday morning.

“This follows consultation with Steven and his family regarding his current well being and best outcome for both himself and his family,” it said.

“Steven will most likely seek to play with his original home club Collingullie, and the club is prepared to release him from his contract if that is the case.

“To date the Wodonga Raiders have had no discussions with … Collingullie .”

Jolliffe has been one of the O and M’s best players since joining from Queanbeyan in 2014.

He played a key role in the ACT outfit’s grand final win over the Sydney Swans’ reserves.

A classy midfielder, the 24-year-old’s season has been derailed by an ankle injury against Myrtleford on April 8.

He tried bravely to play in the following weeks, but the complaint severely restricted his output.

Jolliffe played representative football in 2014.

The energetic on-baller is a massive loss for Raiders as they look to rack up a third successive finals campaign.
