The local area command received the threatening phone call on Sunday morning after 7am.
Duty officer Rob Vergano said investigations that followed identified a 24-year-old Cairns man, who was taken into custody by Queensland police.
Inspector Vergano said officers later charged the young man with using a carriage service for a hoax threat under the Commonwealth Criminal Code.
