With captain Charlie Vallance leading the way at the back and Temora’s midfielders able to get on top after half-time, the Kangaroos found their spark up forward.
It looked a lot like Matt Harpley, in fact, who kicked six goals in the 19.12 (126) to 10.9 (69) win, while Mark Breust was helping set them up at centre-half-forward.
“Our intensity definitely lifted (compared to last week against East Wagga-Kooringal)” Wooden said.
“The ball movement off half-back was a lot cleaner this week and we were moving it into the forward line a lot better.”
“We opened up our midfield. They got up and about and they were quick and clean and able to get it out in front of Matt.”
The Blues worked hard to stay in touch early, down by a goal at quarter-time and 16 points at half-time.
But they couldn’t combat the third quarter onslaught, while a shoulder injury to Dean Pound didn’t help.
Wooden kicked three goals while ruckman Anthony Atkin was tireless.
“Aker, he just battled away all day in the ruck, and he eventualy wore them day I think,” Wooden said.
The Kangaroos now prepare for a massive game at home to Marrar next Saturday, while Coleambally have a third straight game at home, hosting East Wagga-Kooringal.
