It’s called OM:NI – short for Older Men: New Ideas – and member Ken King can testify about how talking to OM:NI co-founder Dr Ray King (not a relative) about depression following the death of his wife Shirley brought him back from the brink.
“OMNI means everything to me, it’s just talking, and it doesn’t matter what’s said,” 77-year-old Ken King said.
Reg Potter, 83, has attended OM:NI’s weekly meetings for five years.
“It’s a good opportunity to talk, I suppose; if you are sitting at home watching television you are not doing much talking.”
“The big things we are addressing are loneliness and depression,” Dr King said.
