“It’s so exciting,” said Ms Luff, chairwoman of the group which now has more than 60 financial members and 1000 likes on its Facebook page less than two months after plans to establish a women’s shed were publicised.
Ms Luff said the shed would lease the former Raceview tennis clubhouse in Beckwith Street from the South Wagga Apex Club with the blessing of Wagga City Council.
“It’s something we did not anticipate happening so quickly,” Ms Luff said.
Shed members will hold a public official opening and fair day at the site on July 2, but before then will be involved in a ladies day at Bunnings on June 19 between 4pm and 7pm during which they will make items and welcome anyone wanting to join.
