The kangaroo – nicknamed Skippy – was drowning in a swimming pool when officers intervened.
Residents and neighbours alerted the Local Area Command to the marsupial’s struggles after hearing a commotion in their backyard.
Police rescued the drowning animal from the pool using a rope.
The exhausted animal was taken to a nearby vet for treatment and has since recovered.
“Some may call it karma for all those times Skippy rescued people in distress,” police said.
