There is usually only 30 students out at Ladysmith but more than 350 kids from 13 schools around Wagga swarmed there last week for representative cross country.
North Wagga Public School was declared the winning school after a competitive day’s long-distance running.
Ladysmith Public School principal Helen Sturman said it proved to be a successful day’s competition.
“It was great. It warmed up well, the sun shone and the frost disappeared,” Sturman said.
The eight, nine and 10 years division completed a two-kilometre course, that goes through the school and neighbouring recreation grounds, while the 11, 12 and 13 years ran three kilometres.
The top four in each division will head to the Riverina PSSA event at Gundagai on June 15.
