Rev-heads were in awe as Mr Richards’ BMW M6 GT3 pulled into Edward Street on Tuesday afternoon as part of the ‘Monkey off your Back’ campaign.
The initiative, spearheaded by Beyond Blue, aims to reduce the stigma of mental illness and depression in Australia.
Residents were given the opportunity to grab a photo with the racing legend and the $600,000 BMW outside Laser Plumbling’s Wagga office.
Riders stopped by during a pit-stop from their Cairns to Melbourne cross-country fundraiser.
Participant and former firefighter Neville Stannard said he was proud to take part in the journey.
“I have seen the stress of our volunteers and the people who have lost everything,” he said.
“Being men and farmers it was hard for them to talk about their experiences and their emotions.
“Nobody should hesitate to speak out.”
