The Bulls made it two wins in a row over Wagga teams with a strong performance at Beres Ellwood Oval on Saturday.
Coming off a win over Wagga City last week, this week’s victory moves Tumut into the top three.
Coach Morgan Grivas was impressed how his team controlled the contest.
“It was very good,” Grivas said.
“We started strong and Aggies came back pretty hard to begin the second half but we weathered the storm and wrestled control back from them so it was a very pleasing win.”
Tumut took a 19-12 lead at the break, and despite Ag College throwing plenty at them were able to hold strong and keep their rivals scoreless in the second half.
They then capitalised late in the game with a couple of late tries.
Tumut hasn’t travelled very well so far this season and Grivas was thrilled by how well they performed away from Jarrah Oval.
“It is very important to be able to get two in a row against quality opposition and it’s impressive to do it away from home,” he said.
Menzies Seumanutafa and the returning Dan Dowson were strong in the forwards while Josef Glamuzina was dangerous at fullback and crossed for a double.
The loss leaves Ag College outside the top five.
They will be looking to hit back when they play host to winless Griffith next week while the the Bulls have a tough task taking on undefeated Leeton.
