Previously at Tumbarumba, Carey started the season with Riverina League club Collingullie-Glenfield Park but has switched to join brother Ben at Gumly.
While Ben is working his way through reserve grade, Billy is straight in as the Hawks look to end a four-game losing streak.
“He kicked three in the first game for ’Gullie, he’s a reasonably smooth mover, with good hands and is hard at the footy,” EWK coach Gavin McMahon said.
The Hawks beat Barellan by more than 140 points when they last met. This year, they’re next to each other on the ladder with both teams conceding 81 points a game.
“We don’t think we’ve been that far away and we don’t think we’re too far away from putting it together,” McMahon said, adding that he can't fault his players’ attitude despite the tough start.
