The community rallied behind the club at a meeting on Tuesday night to address the shortage, which was met with a positive response and will allow it to field both seniors and reserves against Cudgewa on Saturday.
Senior co-coach Mason Tait said it would be horrible for such a historical club to waste away.
“The committee is confident we’ll be able to field two teams for the rest of the season with the support we got at the meeting,” he said.
“We can’t really base much on this year, every club has a low year and it just happened that this year was ours.”
Tait added while the club finds itself in a challenging period, the major positive has been the opportunity to blood a lot of younger local players into the senior team.
