Bishop of Wagga, Most Rev F A Henschke, became the second person to receive the Freedom of the City of Wagga in an impressive ceremony at the Civic Theatre.
Forty-six debutantes were presented to Wor Bro F C Baker and Mrs Baker at the Masonic Ball attended by 900 people at the Kyeamba Smith Hall.
The 10 annual ANZ Bank staff sport carnival for bank employees and their wives from all over NSW and Victoria was held in Wagga.
Almost 50 boys and girls signed up with the Australian Air League during a preliminary meeting in Wagga.
Wagga Rotary Club presented a cheque for $1470, part proceeds of the recent Wagga Trade Fair, to the RAAF Women’s Association educational patriotic fund.
