Weather cool. Had a dinner in the evening. The good things are provided out of corps funds and we were fortunate in having a large room in the convent for the purpose. About 200 sat down with 10 officers and the sergeants acted as waiters. It was a strenuous job, as the dinner consisted of three courses, not counting drinks which were coffee and beer, and altogether it was a very successful show. At 6 o’clock the dinner commenced and a concert carried on the fun until about 10. Several speeches were made and the esprit de corps of the unit was much improved by the affair.
