You wouldn’t expect it but these are the names of cute dogs who are dominating our Instagram feeds, completely unaware they’re winning the hearts of thousands. 

But what is it about a man’s best friend which keeps us clicking? 

When Wagga’s Katrina Mees saved Jackie the border collie from death less than a year ago, she never imagined he could become a local Instagram star. 

For Ms Mees, sharing photos of her dog online is akin to parents posting photos of their children, with just as much love and admiration surrounding the pair. 

With 328 followers, Jackie’s account is on the lower end of the fame scale but the canine lover gets more likes than his owners’ personal account. 

Wagga’s Albert the basset hound has a staggering 9550 followers, while Cootamundra kelpies Diesel and Murray have more than 8000. 

“It’s a way to watch his journey, he’s come such a long way,” Ms Mees said.
