With the track deemed unsuitable to race following Friday’s downpour, the Wagga Greyhound Club had to scramble to ensure the qualifiers for the could be run.
However Greyhound Racing NSW agreed to the move.
Wagga racing manager John Patton thought the change was the best arrangement considering the circumstances.
“We never wanted to lose the meeting and we obviously couldn’t race (on Friday),” Patton said.
“With the (cup) heats, heats of the Butch Pertzel and the other terrific races that we have on the card we needed it to be on in two days and Greyhound Racing NSW agreed to it.”
With finer weather forecast the change should enable to club to hosts the final of the cup as planned next Saturday.
The first race will now be at 5.57pm.
The 10-race card will stay in the original order meaning the first of the four cup heats will be at 7.25pm.
